The conference programme accommodates the following scheduled social events. Wednesday 11th October 2017

DRINKS RECEPTION    18:30 – 20:00

Estimated 60-90 minutes drinks reception and poster session. This will be held in the Windows on the Wallace Conservatory at the Stirling Court Hotel from 18:30, directly following the SLLS AGM. Refreshments and canapes will be available and are included as part of the conference fee.

EARLY CAREER SOCIAL     20:00 -

Early career researchers are invited to attend for food and drinks after the drinks reception at the Meadowpark. Contact ECR reps Jess (jessica.abell@ucl.ac.uk), Ludovica (LGambaro@diw.de) or Ash (a.l.ward@stir.ac.uk) for more information. Capacity is limited to 40.

TOUR OF THE PATHFOOT ART COLLECTION

16:15 – 18:00

Estimated 90 minute guide to the University’s art collection located in the Pathfoot building on campus. We will leave from the Stirling Court Foyer at 16:15 to walk to the Pathfoot building. The tour will commence at 16:30. Maximum capacity is 40 people.

VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY ARCHIVES

16:15 – 17:15

17:00 – 18:00

Estimated 45 minute tour of the University’s archive collections. We will leave from the Stirling Court Foyer at 16:15 and 17:00 to walk to the University library.

There will be two sessions open to delegates:

A: 16:30 – 17:15

B: 17:15 – 18:00

Maximum capacity is 12 people per session.

GUIDED WALKS AROUND CAMPUS

16:15 – 16:45

16:15 – 17:15

Estimated 30 and 60 minute tours around the University grounds. 30 minute tour on tarmac paths; 60 minute tour includes some muddy and uneven terrain.  Both tours will leave from the Stirling Court Foyer at 16:15. Both walks are weather permitting.

CONFERENCE DINNER

19:30 – 00:00

Guests are asked to arrive at the Stirling Court Hotel for 19:30. Dinner will be served in the Abbey Craig Restaurant. The dinner will be followed by a traditional Scottish ceilidh (approx. 22:00 – 00:00). Conference dinner tickets must be booked via the online registration pages when registering for the conference, with a maximum of 2 tickets permitted per person). Tickets are priced at £40 per person. If there are any tickets left these will be advertised at the conference registration desk during the conference.
